I found out about Night Maniac 2 from the recent release, so had to play the first one to get up to speed about the lore, etc. The aesthetic of the 80's slasher is on point, and you have a great boogeyman character with Mr. Paperbag butcher man. It was great to see the characters from the first outing reappear (poor Edgar, didn't have much of a cameo, eh?) and hopefully this series won't stop at a sequel. I wanna see the Night Maniac resurrected! Or maybe like a Jason X have his remains in space...only for a foolish band of teenagers to resuscitate him ;)
I'm not a particular fan of the 'run around trying to get item A to open Locker B' when something is chasing you throughout, and felt that the majority of the game lent into this mechanic. The cutscenes also seemed a little out of kilter pace wise, (why didn't Roy just tell Jonathan his findings on the phone? Why did he need to come back to the massacre?) but overall a grand job bringing me back to my 80's youth.
Please say you'll be looking at Night Maniac 3? Perhaps Jonathan, scarred by the ordeals he'd had to endure, takes up the mantle of his father? Maybe there are two Night Maniac copycat killers and he has to fight them? Or y'know...could set it in space. Just sayin...
Thank you very much for playing and recording Night Maniac 2! We are not currently planning a direct sequel to Night Maniac 2. However, I'm planning a Night Maniac that tells the story of Steven Watson’s past, showing how it all began. I will also produce a Steam version of the first Night Maniac with some extra scenes, and perhaps a different game mode. And Night Maniac 2 might be updated with some improvements based on feedback.
I feel like this one wasn't as impactful as the first game in the series. I just wish you guys took more time to properly plan out everything, it was kind of getting boring towards the end. Still appreciate the work tho
I had fun, I don't think I played the first one. Brutal deaths, reminded a little of Halloween. I liked the audio warning of when he was close, and many close calls I had with him. hiding in the shadows watching him walk by me was really intense. I liked the chase music too :). Looking forward to your next game
If I disagreed with what you said, I'd be a bit wrong. But I still intend to improve the game. Especially the flashback to Edgar's death. And add more scenes.
An absolute blast from the start till the finish, I had the best time with this, W Game and W Dev, Goated!!!
The story of the "Red Valley Butcher" is brutal, it has become iconic and I am sure someone will ask you for the movies rights, because this deserves to be on the big screen. The atmosphere is so believable, drenched with suspense, dialogue, story telling and the action packed finale.
Although, I do think the game dragged a little with the cutscenes, fading in and out of the scenes, but that's a minor issue. The ending of the game and the cemetery sequence was worth playing this and I can't believe you outdid yourself with this one.
I would love to see the continuation of this with a twist of Jonathan becoming the killer, because he has lived through so much, he has become like his father, a bit of poetic continuation might solidify the trilogy and even thou I think you are the GOAT, with the third came you will definitely become a Hall Of Fame developer for Copper Cube (again, I think you already are, but always better yourself for more).
Best of luck with the future projects Diego and I can't wait to see more. Your big fan and supported 🍻
This was a really good game. It took me an hour to escape that dude. I was progressively getting mad but I got it eventually. I don't know why I always have a hard time escaping at that but I'm glad played this. I can't wait to see what y'all make in the future. Keep up the good work.

this game was so much worse than the first one. most of it is boring repetitive dialogue and then the end is a granny wannabe
